"Some mornings it just doesn't seem worth it to gnaw through the leather straps."
Emo Phillips

TheTruth.Con-descension:
By Matt L. Ottinger. The problem with these ads is that not only are they redundant -- we get it, smoking kills -- but they are ultimately helping to destroy the notion of individual responsibility that is inherent to the necessary functions of a free society.

Canada:
OTTAWA:
The Bush administration has bluntly told Canada it is not welcome to sue big tobacco in U.S. courts.
Nation-wide Indoor Smoking Ban:
I would dearly love to see the federal Canadian government and all the Canadian provinces attempt to enact a Nation-wide indoor smoking ban !
Chilly Days For Smokers:
By Jim Algie. As it is, Hutton must accept that when he goes out after 9 p.m., he'll have to work his way around the building in his wheelchair to the front door to be re-admitted. These days, the process takes about 20 minutes. Winter will make it worse.
History repeated - Canada is following an anti-smoking campaign precedent:
History, if forgotten, has a way of repeating itself. In the case of anti-smoking, those in 'charge' are counting on our forgetfulness. We are trying to ensure that you don't forget.

Tobacco Kontrol:
Academic Standards Go Up in Smoke. By Pierre Lemieux. …there is no Cunningham paper on anti-tobacco expenditures published by the Canadian Cancer Society… There is something rotten in the state of tobacco control.

Mayor Bloomberg's Plan.

Become a NYC C.L.A.S.H. member.

Anti-tobacco Programs Struggle For Dollars:
Despite the billions of dollars received from tobacco companies in settlements, few states are using the money to fund tobacco-control programs, a new study released Wednesday reveals.

"Smokefree ideologues will of course put the resulting economic misery down to 'collateral damage' - unavoidable in the quest for a tobacco free world. They will naturally have taken measures to 'inoculate' themselves from said 'damage' - we can only hope there will be some unintended consequences in store for them personally."
Pat Hagen
Forces Canada

Learn From Prohibition:
By Patrick Cox. As Edmund Burke said, ''The true danger is when liberty is nibbled away for expedience.'' What's next, I wonder.

Defend America:
Send your thanks to the men and women of the U.S. military by signing this online thank you note

We Are Everyday People:
World Smokers Day in Dover.

Take The Time And Think:
I can no longer sit back to watch and listen as others take away my personal rights one by one.

Smokers Rights Canada:
What's New.

Well, How Do You Do...Fingerprints Required:
By Ginger Delgado. They are now asking all merchants in the county to require fingerprints... The new policy will take effect throughout Jefferson County in the next few weeks.

EPA Knew It Was Toxic:
As allegations mount of illness and deaths related to aerosolized emissions from sludge applied to land, officials at both the federal and state levels will be called on to tell what they knew, when they knew it and why they didn't do anything about it.

Antibody May Be Risk Factor For Stroke In Young Women:
Antiphospholipid antibodies are autoantibodies - rather than fighting a foreign infectious source they're directed against the body's own tissues. They increase the chances of blood clotting, a cause of ischemic stroke.

From The Mailbag:
Home Owner Shoots Alleged Burglars:
By: Raquel Dixon. Police say you need to remember, the only time you can legally shoot someone is if they pose a threat to your safety.
Detroit Woman Shoots Intruder:
By Cheryl Chodun. Police do not anticipate any charges.
Homeowner shoots burglar Third time in week house was targeted
