"If we cannot now end our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity."
John F. Kennedy.

Why I Decided To Invest In Philip Morris:
We must be allowed to have free will.

Biz Battles Butt Ban:
Leo Ledohowski, president and CEO of Hospitality Corp., said Winnipeg's 100 hotels could easily lose $100 million in business, which would reduce the city's tax revenues by roughly $6 million.

Pub Tries Alternative:
When Ken Rueter, owner of the 160-seat Black Dog Pub in Scarborough, Ont., voluntarily went smoke-free, he lost $5,000 in the first month.
City Puffs, Doesn't Inhale:
The heated debate over an all-out smoking ban in Winnipeg fizzled this afternoon at City Hall.

R.J. Reynolds Wins Mississippi Lawsuit:
``I think the jurors here were simply not prepared to award money to someone who they believed was aware of the dangers of smoking,'' Feldman said.

Jeff Jacoby:
...if I do choose to return in four months, there would have to be a "serious rethink" of the kind of column I write.

Parallels of Liberal Democrats to Adolph Hitler:
It was refreshing to see that ABC's own Peter Jennings drew striking parallels of Adolph Hitler and the National Socialist Party to the Liberal Democratic Party of the United States.

Capitol Hill Blue:
Because nobody's life, liberty or property is safe while Congress is in session

We Are Everyday People:

rushlimbaugh.com: is the only place where you'll find the award-winning, and thrill-packed Rush Limbaugh Radio Show on the Internet. You can hear it live, every weekday from Noon to 3pm Eastern, through your computer.

Home Eating a Threat to Public Kitchens?: (comedy) State Allows Growing Trend of Eating At Home. The children must have annual physical examinations to assure proper growth and weight gain.

Cohen To Cut Back Anthrax Vaccines: A relatively small, but increasingly vocal, number of military members are refusing to take the vaccine.

From The Mailbag:

MSNBC July 6 - Is Chelsea Clinton a smoker? A source insists that the first daughter - whose mother spearheaded anti-tobacco campaigns - "was smoking like a chimney" over the weekend at Xando, a coffee shop near DuPont Circle in Washington.

Orlando, Florida - Carnival Cruise Lines is making both passengers and employees walk the plank for political correctness. Since banning the use or possession of tobacco products on the "Paradise" ship, fourteen passengers and one employee have been left at the nearest port. One passenger, who was escorted off the ship after a steward found a pack of cigarettes, said "I never smoked on board and I was never accused of smoking." According to Carnival she was guilty of possession.
