Prohibition... goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes... A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded."
Abraham Lincoln ( December 1840)

In Response To Joseph Cherner:
Mr. Cherner has the nerve to go on national television and admonish people for not accepting his lifestyle and then dares to tell others how to live.

Duluth Grill Owner:
says smoking ban is main cause for closing. The city's ordinance prohibiting smoking in restaurants went into effect Jan. 1.

Exposures To Second-hand Smoke Lower Than Believed:
ORNL study finds... Subjects, who were non-smokers, wore pumps that sampled the air they were breathing while at work for a minimum of four hours. Researchers recorded a maximum RSP level of 768 micrograms per cubic meter. The OSHA standard for RSP is 5,000 micrograms per cubic meter over eight hours.

Cities Can't Ban Smoking:
in restaurants, court rules local smoking bans are now against the law.

Smoker 'Denied Bypass':
"Smokers are entitled to the same care and compassion as non-smokers."

House Examines FDA, Tobacco:
The bill's sponsors say not to expect immediate action in the House on the legislation. A similar bill died in committee last year.

Skepticism As Society's 'death knell':
When truth is dethroned, only power remains. Deconstruct the claims to truth and you are left with competing claims to power based on race, class, gender and generation. This is the prevailing view today.

Wellbutrin and Zyban are the same drug... DO NOT take them together or you may overdose and die.

We Are Everyday People:

Waterloo Region Smoking Ban:
BC Canada coverage, lawsuits, email links, message board and more.

I Spy With My Little Mind:
Urging people to tattle reminds me of my Communist youth.

Tagged students defy Big Brother:
